After initially training as an actor, Graham began his photographic career as a studio assistant in fashion and advertising in London's east end.

Having very soon realised that he wanted to make a move toward documentary and reportage work he managed to secure a staff photographer's position at the South London Press, where he covered everything from Poll Tax riots to gangland killings.

Work followed on various national newspaper titles, covering a wide variety of assignments, from hard news to features and portraiture. In 1995 he was given the opportunity to start covering portrait and feature work for the Los Angeles Times as a European stringer as well as syndicating his work worldwide through the renowned Sygma Agency.

He was also a founding partner and Creative Director of his own agency, BWP Media set up with a colleague and former picture editor as well as for a time running his own photographic gallery ( The Waterloo Gallery )

Over the years his portrait and feature work has been published widely in many prestigious publications worldwide, including
Los Angeles Times, Time Magazine, New York Times, Washington Post and Rolling Stone Magazine to name but a very few. He has contributed to several books, ' Five Thousand Days' and 'Assignments' titles and exhibited his work at many venues across the UK.

Graham continues to spend much of his time shooting design/structure/corporate, portraiture and travel related commissions for a diverse clientele, and when not engaged in this, can normally be found in a remote part of the UK photographing land/seascapes as well as his continuing work on personal projects.

In recent years Graham has found some considerable success as a fine art photographer and some of his work is now available to purchase directly from this site https://graham-barclay.pixelrights.com/albums/6PyS...
